This is what I wore to the NARS Cosmetics event; it was a gorgeous day in the city, but it twas' the city so layering was necessary. The bay area has such bi-polar weather that the only way to survive is to layer. My leather jacket was perfect for the blast of air conditioning at the event and for the cold bursts of air on the walk to Bart but the tank blouse was perfect to enjoy the sunshine that I'm currently welcoming now.
